Unveiling an Unusual Steam Game Trial: Guiding a Poop on a Quest to Arrive at the Toilet

Steam Next Fest is in full swing, and enthusiasts have found plenty of entertaining independent titles. However, one stands out for its quirky concept. Named Unko Technica, this old-school styled jumping adventure features a hero that is actually a piece of poop striving to travel to a commode. As a fun fact, "Unko" translates to "poop."

Player controls is easy to grasp: just use a one button to leap. Throughout 150 levels, battle boss fights and access a market to buy customizations for your poop character.

Plan your jumps carefully, since one wrong move requires beginning again. Leap on floating orbs to launch yourself higher, cross crumbling platforms, and activate buttons to unlock secret routes. Earn UN-KOINS for buying more difficult levels as gameplay gets crazy.

Visually, the game boasts neon level designs and a killer music score. The retro graphics featuring shifting basic polygons evokes memories of fans of old favorites like Earthbound.

Although tough to think of previous releases where you play as a piece of feces, gaming often included scatological themes. For instance, in Death Stranding, you can create explosives from protagonist excrement. Titles such as Palworld and Ark: Survival Evolved use manure as fertilizer. Naturally, fecal references appears heavily in Obsidian's role-playing game The Stick of Truth.

Putting aside its silly idea, Unko Technica has already garnered notable awards, such as being named best at a major publisher's indie contest in 2023. A playable preview is accessible at present on Steam, with the complete version set to launch on computers on November 19.
